Life Safety Plan – Print Update
FMS updates and prepares Life Safety Plans so your drawings accurately reflect current building conditions. Plans identify, on a zone by zone basis, the occupancy use and the extent of automatic sprinkler system coverage provided, and show the fire and smoke resistive ratings and locations of required walls and enclosures.
Why Organizations Need Life Safety Plan Updates
Current, accurate Life Safety Plans support safe operations and survey readiness by capturing renovations, construction changes, system upgrades, and reconfigured spaces or walls that affect life safety. Updated drawings also provide the structural fire protection documentation needed for regulatory review and ongoing inspection and maintenance of life safety features.
Scope of Assessment
FMS reviews existing plans and updates printed Life Safety Plan sets to reflect current conditions, including:
- Areas of the building sprinklered, including partial sprinkler coverage where applicable
- Locations of hazardous storage areas
- Locations of fire rated barriers and smoke rated barriers
- Sleeping and non sleeping suite boundaries, including suite sizes
- Locations of designated smoke compartments
- Locations of chutes and shafts, including related doors and access panels
- Life Safety Code summary and plan legends showing requirements governed by the Authority Having Jurisdiction and Accreditation Organization
